Japan has another moment of frosted elegance on the west coast of Hokkaido – where the island’s biggest city becomes a chorus of ice sculptures every February. The 2016 edition of the Sapporo Snow Festival(February 5-18) will be the 67th, with a raft of frozen artworks – temples, dragons, cartoon characters – taking over places such as Odori Park.
