This
fortress is one of the most important Soviet World War II monuments,
commemorating the Soviet resistance against Germany. Now, the fortress
is a tourist attraction, and its square layout offers a central
courtyard and many rooms to explore. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage
Site tentative list.
