Gothenburg has been known for its sea ports because of its strategic location at the west coast between Denmark-Norway. The sea has become a primary identity of this magnificent city. Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden and has been associated to the Greek God Poseidon because of their seafaring history. Today, Gothenburg manages to retain this identity while putting forth a new one. Gothenburg is now known primarily because of their art, culture and education.
Many cultural events occur in Gothenburg on a yearly basis. Two of the most popular festivals celebrating the artistry of the Swedes are the Gothenburg Film Festival and the Gothenburg Book Fair, both of which are the largest events of their kind in Scandinavia.

If it’s shopping you’re interested in then visit Nordstran, Scandinavia’s second largest shopping district. It has over 180 shops and 150 offices. From shoes to clothes to books, you name it Nordstran’s got it.
If you’re done soaking in the culture and grandeur of Gothenburg it’s time to enjoy its nightlife. Gothenburg is known to have to have more night clubs than anywhere else in Sweden. If you’re a person who’s not into clubbing and more into fine dining then you’ve definitely come to the right place. Gothenburg’s cuisine is one of the finest in the world and has garnered rave reviews from critics’ world wide.
